“Levels” give off the idea that somehow, just like in the world, we must work for what we receive in God’s kingdom and that somehow if we do work harder than we will have MORE in Christ, get more from God, have more authority, or are better than others at perceived “lower levels”. This simply is no longer true in the New Covenant. In the New Covenant God’s mercy and grace freely have been given from the Son at the Cross at Cavalry where Jesus willingly allowed Himself to be put as our ransom. In the Kingdom there are no levels to attain like we have in the world and our jobs. In the Kingdom we simply reflect what is inside us. Are we always perfect….nope. Yet, even the moon isn’t always full. But we do go from glory to glory. Here let’s look at this scripture:
“But we all, with unveiled face, beholding as in a mirror the glory of the Lord, are being transformed into the same image from glory to glory, just as from the Lord, the Spirit.” 2 Corinthians3:18NASB
And let’s dig out the meaning of the above words from their definition in the Greek text here:
”We, each and every part of the total, having minds not blinded but able to perceive the glorious Majesty of Christ and the absolutely perfect inward excellence of Christ as we reflect like a mirror the same likeness as we change after being with; from the glory which we behold results in our own giving out a glory-sharing in the influence, the glorious condition of blessedness which is appointed and promised that true Christians enjoy now by the Spirit of the Lord.”
All this happens while resting in Him; not working to be like Him. You can’t help changing as you look at the glorious Majesty of Christ which now lives inside you. The moon does not have to work at all to reflect the sun. It simply rests and naturally reflects as it faces the sun. This is the exact same way it happens with minds that are no longer blinded, who see Christ for Who He is. They face the Son and reflect out Who now lives inside them.
Isn’t this such a great truth from 2018? Grace is what God brought through his son and we are fortunate to live in such a time as this, yet the church throws it back at God in fear. It is either fear or faith. I choose to grab hold of the faith God puts inside me, look at Jesus and thank him for all he did for me. When I do that fear dissipates, grace takes hold and I know no matter what God loves me and leans towards me all the time. Grace is God’s portion. The beautiful place he calls each of us to live in. We are like the moon shining from the sun’s light not our own will trying to produce the light. Jesus talked about the basket covering the light not the light trying to be produced. You are going to shine with him in you just don’t cover it. It is not something we produce on our own. I talk a lot about this in both of my books Time To Really Live Free and The Door Is Open. It is so simple to live from this place of rest because God gives us everything we need to do so.
May God fill you with understanding as he unwinds old belief systems and you see the way he sees. Much Grace, Darlene
