Fear (phobos -noun) causes actions from all people. Just as faith (pistis -noun) causes actions from all people. If we can first see fear or faith as a thing which then moves us into an action (result-verb) then this will make much more sense to us.
The easiest example is when Jesus is in the boat with his disciples and the storm comes up. We have fear (phobos-noun) of the storm, tho boat capsizing, death or we have faith (pistis – noun) in the form of Jesus on the boat. Jesus asks us to realize we are never threatened in this world, to fear not, perfect love casts out all fear. Nothing can hurt us in this world.
Now, I know that sounds crazy: “Nothing in this world can hurt us”. Do you live life from this perspective or only say you believe this? Honestly though from your core? Because most Christians do not live this way. They say these scriptures but to live from here takes the persuasion of the Father and our changing our mind which then creates a core belief within us.
I am not saying this to bring any condemnation. That is not the point of this truth. This truth is to point out an area in which God desires to take the fear (phobos -noun) from you by persuading you (faith (pistes-noun) of something so much better. We are to remember the second death does not harms us. It is the place we live from-our core belief.
This doesn’t mean we never feel fear if we have faith (noun) or believe (verb). It just means these times help us grow our faith (noun-our ability to be persuaded by God). One scripture that is a place I live from now because God has changed the way I see things (repentance), and yes he has to remind me constantly, which of course then subsequently removes my fear (verb) comes out of Romans.
Romans is a very important book for those of us who are gentile believers in Christ. I break down almost an entire chapter in my first book Time To Really Live Free. But within Romans 8:39, in the message version, is a place I live from which then reassures me that God will NEVER, EVER, EVER leave me nor forsake me. Here it is:
“So, what do you think? With God on our side like this, how can we lose? If God didn’t hesitate to put everything on the line for us, embracing our condition and exposing himself to the worst by sending his own Son, is there anything else he wouldn’t gladly and freely do for us? And who would dare tangle with God by messing with one of God’s chosen? Who would dare even to point a finger? The One who died for us—who was raised to life for us!—is in the presence of God at this very moment sticking up for us. Do you think anyone is going to be able to drive a wedge between us and Christ’s love for us? There is no way! Not trouble, not hard times, not hatred, not hunger, not homelessness, not bullying threats, not backstabbing, not even the worst sins listed in Scripture: They kill us in cold blood because they hate you. We’re sitting ducks; they pick us off one by one. None of this fazes us because Jesus loves us. I’m absolutely convinced that nothing—nothing living or dead, angelic or demonic, today or tomorrow, high or low, thinkable or unthinkable—absolutely nothing can get between us and God’s love because of the way that Jesus our Master has embraced us.”

My heart and faith intertwined as one with God’s heart. A new creation I am in Christ. Faith is God’s persuasion, a thing, a gift he gives that we accept or choose not to. This changes our perception as we accept this faith gift of persuasion and causes us then to believe and/or trust in what God has persuaded us of. Which is belief and is an action (verb-pisteuó). This process of changing our perception is known as repentance (metanoia-noun) and when we choose to change our mind it is repent (netanoeó -verb). What an amazingly simple thing in which so many within the church make difficult. This difficulty, created by man, brings fear (noun) which then has so many living in this fear (noun) and producing decisions (actions) made out of fear (verb).
When we are living in the incorrect core belief that God turns his face away from you when you believe you have “sinned” then you are throwing the above scripture out. We can say one thing but believe something completely opposite which is seen in our actions.
