In my book, The Door Is Open, I discuss several signs of antichrist or anti-messiah behaviors, beginning with the scripture from Matthew 23:4-38 in The Message translation. Let’s delve into the sixth sign, as described in verse 15 of Matthew 23:
““You’re hopeless, you religion scholars and Pharisees! Frauds! You go halfway around the world to make a convert, but once you get him you make him into a replica of yourselves, double-damned.” (MSG)
These are the words of Jesus from His time on earth, which reveal the resistance to the authentic gospel that I explore in depth in my first (Time To Really Live Free) and second book. One of the aspects I discuss in both my books is the fact that we can not mix law and grace. It creates double mindedness (see Chapter 9 of Time To Really Live Free to fully understand) when we mix law and grace. Double damned is a word where it means duplicity (double) eternal separation from God. I see this as in likeness of the other person. I write extensively in both books how we learn from what we watch in human behavior rather than by listening. This duplicity is an exact copy of learning the mixing of law and grace. It is time to walk away, shake off the dust from our feet, and stop funding this lie that has been perpetuated within the present day church.
